Virtual Adds Employees to Marketing & Events Staff

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Nov. 12, 2013 – Virtual, Inc. (, a technology-focused association management company, has expanded its staff with the addition of three new employees at various levels, who supplement the firm’s teams of seasoned professionals in the functional areas of marketing communications and events management.

Virtual annually plans and executes dozens of full-service and high-profile events for clients in locations around the world — in 35 countries to date.  The firm also manages and facilitates hundreds of client Board and working group meetings every year.  As for marketing, no company better understands how to market membership organizations, communicate with constituents, and influence stakeholders than Virtual, as the firm’s many awards demonstrate.

Carla Gates is Virtual’s new Web Content Specialist.  Her responsibilities include developing and managing the online presence and social media strategies of Virtual and its clients.  She has an extensive background in digital marketing, copywriting, email marketing and social media.  Her past experience includes work at d50 Media Digital Agency, Grand Circle Corporation, Glance Networks, Citizens Bank, and her own web design and marketing agency, FivePark Internet.  She is a guest lecturer on social media at Southern New Hampshire University, and she also speaks on digital marketing at conferences.

Rebecca Oteri has joined Virtual as Senior Events Manager.  In this role, she is responsible for managing event staff and event logistics across the company’s full client base.  She is a CMP (Certified Meeting Planner) with extensive experience in event management, marketing and training development.  Most recently, she worked at Kantar Retail in Boston, and prior to that she spent five years with Dassault Systemes ENOVIA in Lowell.

Nadine Wright has joined Virtual as a Marketing Communications Specialist.  She handles day-to-day marketing activities for a number of Virtual’s technology consortium and professional association clients, and she also provides project-level support.  She comes to Virtual from Reed Exhibitions, one of the largest event organizers in the world, where she worked in all areas of marketing communications and received a number of awards.
