What I do at Virtual:
In my role I help leaders to imagine their futures and then help their organizations navigate through change for growth. Standards organizations, non-profits, and high growth technology companies have been where I’ve championed change for good in both developing and developed economies worldwide.
Years of experience:
Over 30 years in technology, nonprofit, and standards organizations.
Past employment:
Apple, Intel, Bluetooth SIG, UWB Forum, Water.org, Iomega, Sprint, Informix, and a good many startups along the way
Education:
Bachelors in History from University of Kansas. Associates in Math & Computer Science from Wichita State University.
Favorite client story:
(I’m still pretty new).
Hidden talent:
Can write Python code in the morning and edit press releases in the afternoon.
What I do for fun:
Outdoor activities, writing, time with my family, and home projects.
I can’t live without:
Useful technology that lasts all day long without a power adapter.
Important life lesson:
If you don’t fix it today, a year from now you’ll have the same problem.
Key to success:
“It all works together.” Too often we think there’s a shortcut to success or that we’re just one great idea away from it. Truth is, a great many small things done very well outweigh one big one.
Community involvement:
Many local charities, our faith community, and food insecure people in Kansas City.
Favorite movie, book, food, music/band/song:
Inception, Guns, Germs & Steel, and all things Mexican.
