WAKEFIELD, Mass. – April 20, 2016 – Virtual, Inc., the leading technology-focused association management company, has added Andrew Kurtzman to its senior team. He will serve as Vice President and Staff Counsel, reporting to Greg Kohn, Virtual’s Executive Vice President. Kurtzman will provide legal counsel and lead account teams for select client organizations.
“Andy is a terrific addition to our leadership team. His deep background in the telecommunications area and his range of experience as an attorney, as well as his Washington, D.C. location, broaden the range of strategic services that Virtual delivers to our clients,” said Kohn. “I’m confident that Andy will make significant contributions to both Virtual and client success.”
Kurtzman comes to Virtual with a depth of association management and standards-related experience. Notably, he spent 14 years as Vice President, General Counsel and Board Secretary for the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the fourth-largest ANSI standards development organization in the U.S. In his role there, Kurtzman oversaw numerous IPR-related projects, participated in lobbying efforts, and contributed to the overall strategic direction of the organization.
Most recently, Kurtzman served as Executive Director and General Counsel for the Muni Broadband Forum, a non-profit lobbying organization with a mission to remove restrictions preventing municipalities from developing their own broadband networks. Earlier, before TIA, he held a number of different roles in the non-profit and IT sectors. Kurtzman has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the Washington College of Law.
