Macedo’s Appointment Reflects Virtual’s Commitment to Maximizing Employee Engagement, Talent, and Business Growth

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Feb. 3, 2022Virtual, Inc., a professional services firm that enables organizations to achieve their goals and make a mark on the world, today announced the promotion of Miriam Macedo to the position of Director of Talent Development, reporting to Chief People Officer Bonnie Bystrek on the company’s People and Culture team. In her new role, Macedo will transform and scale Virtual’s culture and human capital initiatives to accelerate the company’s continued growth.

For 10 years, Macedo has driven Virtual’s talent acquisition, engagement and development strategies, holding several senior-level roles, each with an increasing level of responsibility. Her ability to acquire top talent during one of the most competitive labor markets while simultaneously engaging Virtual’s employees to deliver service excellence, makes Macedo uniquely qualified to drive the company’s talent development and acquisition initiatives.

Macedo joined Virtual in 2012 as a Human Resources intern, quickly jumping in to contribute to Virtual’s mission and advancing to a senior leadership role on the People and Culture team. In addition to working closely with her business partners, candidates, and hiring managers, she is a frequent speaker on talent development and strategy through the local community and universities. She also represents Virtual at the Wakefield Lynnfield Chamber of Commerce, advocating for civic, economic, and social welfare. As a leader of Virtual’s diversity and inclusion efforts, Miriam also represents her home country of Brazil as an active member of ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America). As a certified behavioral assessment practitioner through the Predictive Index, Macedo ensures that Virtual’s unique employee-focused culture constantly evolves and innovates while discovering employees’ motivations and needs to unlock business results. Macedo has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Salem State University and a graduate certificate in human resources management from Kaplan University.
